The committee works to connect experts in our area with different groups in the community to help educate and empower Charlotte residents. They have a number of initiatives they’re working on this year.
One of those major initiatives this year is focused on teaching local students about building self-esteem and preventing bullying. The committee has partnered with six local schools to connect community leaders with students. The anti-bullying messages are designed to fight against a problem that has gained attention both nationally and internationally.
Other events focus on health and wellness. On October 17 from 6:00-8:00pm they are hosting a panel discussion at the Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center. The event will focus on resources for breast cancer survivors and their families. For more information call 704-424-5050.
