As we turn the page into a new year, I want to take time to thank everyone for all their help in 2012. The president’s job, as you know, is rewarding — but it is impossible to do alone. Each and every one of you, sincerely, has helped make the year memorable.
As we continue to enjoy our 87th year it is ironic the tie to American History. Four scores and seven years (from our Gettysburg Address) refers to exactly 87 years. At the time of the address Lincoln was referring to the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
Moving to 2013, I’m hoping to continue the mission driven work we’ve been doing and link hands to ensure Amie and Beverley, our incoming president and president-elect, have a smooth transition as they step into their roles in June 2013. As we continue to our declaration to serve our community we have the chance with the move to the Healthy Family Initiative to bring independence to many families.
I want to wish you and your families a healthy and happy New Year’s holiday and a wonderful 365 days to come. May the new year bless the JLC as we do the work we all know is so valued and gives us such fulfillment.
Happy New Year,
