The Junior League of Charlotte recently helped the Reid Park community accept a gift, with the help of another gift.
The community was to receive a donated lawnmower from the City of Charlotte for the Amay James Community Center but did not have a place to store it. The community also needed storage space for the Junior League Community Garden tools.
While Habitat Charlotte agreed to donate staff time, they still needed a partner to cover other costs. Habitat Charlotte applied to the Junior League of Charlotte’s Enabling Fund for the additional needed resources. The award of over $1,000 will go toward building a 12 x 6 shed to house the donated lawnmower and for other landscaping materials.
In the 2012-2013 JLC year, over $5,000 is available from the JLC to help fund short-term or immediate needs or facilitate start-up programs.
