The Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. (JLC) invites the community and friends of the JLC WearHouse to its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Event, this Saturday, October 24th, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Guests will enjoy 50% off all thrift merchandise as well as receive education and awareness information to counter breast cancer in the Charlotte community. This event is free and open to the public.
In partnership with Charlotte Radiology, the JLC WearHouse has hosted this annual breast cancer awareness event since 2010 to bring awareness to the disease that impacts one in eight women in the United States. Charlotte Radiology will serve as the education provider for the event, leading three information sessions at the WearHouse at 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 1:30 p.m.The JLC WearHouse has also partnered with Carolina Breast Friends, who will showcase how their organization supports breast cancer patients. Leading up to and including the date of the event, the JLC WearHouse will be collecting items for donation to be used in the Carolina Breast Friends patient comfort bags. The following items are acceptable donations: warm socks, sensitive toothpaste, sensitive toothbrushes, unscented lotions, fragrance-free and chemical-free hand or body lotions, travel size tissues, word puzzles, journals, dental floss, and alcohol-free mouthwash.
The JLC WearHouse is located at 1117 Pecan Avenue in Charlotte, NC. Store hours are Monday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
