Patrice Gibson, a true Charlottean born and raised, strives to become a better version of herself every day. She values the relationships she builds in her personal and professional life so that she can easily connect with like-minded individuals to help networks grow.
League Impact on Current Career
Like most Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. (JLC) members, Patrice joined the JLC for the opportunities to volunteer and serve her community, meet new like-minded women leaders and learn skills that transfer to other areas of her life. Patrice began her Junior League journey in 2015 when she joined the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties. From there, she transferred to the Junior League of Atlanta before returning to her hometown in 2019 and transferring to the JLC. She has served on the Fund Development Council, Board of Directors, Communications Council, Transfer Committee, 100th Anniversary Task Force and Membership Engagement Task Force. Currently, she’s a Member-at-Large on the Board of Directors. The Junior League has helped her hone the ability to manage people and invest in them.
She’s currently the Director of Development for Shining Hope Farms, which aims to improve the lives of its participants and their families. The Farms’ programs offer equine-assisted physical and occupational therapies, speech-language pathology, mental health counseling and therapeutic riding for individuals and groups with various disabilities. One of the best parts of her career, Patrice believes, is the privilege of witnessing miracles in patients’ lives. Growing this organization to ensure it can have a longer-lasting and greater impact is part of her goal in the next few years.
“Everything comes back to people. If we invest in people, it causes a ripple effect that positively influences others,” Patrice says.
Fun Facts
When she’s not working or volunteering with the JLC, Patrice enjoys working out and hiking outdoors.
