Elizabeth Grymes, chair of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina Committee, joined the Junior League of Charlotte in fall 2013. Elizabeth is passionate about her placement and loves making a difference in the lives of children. “As a mother of two young children, the Second Harvest Food Bank project hits close to home. The thought of not being able to ensure my children are fed on days they aren’t in school is unimaginable, and I want to make a difference in the lives of children who do not have the surety of a guaranteed meal at home,” says Elizabeth.
A JLC member since fall 2013, Elizabeth has served on the Second Harvest committee since fall 2014. Prior to that, Elizabeth was a part of Go Kids Go. While she initially joined the JLC to network with other professional women, she has found her calling in her current placement.
This year has been a significant year for Elizabeth – she has a new home and a new job!
Originally from Jacksonville, FL, Elizabeth is a strategic sourcing consultant at Wells Fargo. When she’s not working or volunteering, Elizabeth is running after her two children. She also loves to travel and attend orchestra performances. You will find her cheering for the Florida State Seminoles (she attended as a graduate student and she met her husband there) and UNCC (her husband works there and they have really enjoyed attending their football games).
In the next five years, Elizabeth hopes to continue making a difference in the community, enjoy time with her family and love what she does professionally. Those sound like goals we can all aspire to achieve!
We appreciate Elizabeth’s commitment to the League, and we hope you will have a chance to get know her better!
