Q: Tell me about yourself (where you were born/grew up, family background, early life
A: Hello my name is Tommi Conner!
I am a native Charlottean, currently married to my wonderful husband Decomba and we have two adult sons: Daron and Quamir. I hold my master’s degree in Leadership and I’m an Information Technology Program Manager at Bank of America. Before starting a career in technology, I owned and operated a salon as a licensed cosmetologist, and for years I worked in the corporate environment during the day and practiced cosmetology in the evenings. I currently lead several women nonprofit organizations, including a sorority organization that I founded in 2013. My main objectives are to oversee the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization which include fundraising, recruitment, marketing and community outreach.
I joined the Junior League in 2017 to align myself with other women who share a passion and enthusiasm for volunteering in the Charlotte Community. Through the Junior League, I’ve had the opportunity to participate on several committees and teams such as the marketing team during my Provisional year, Leadership Development Institute, Membership Advisory Committee, Training and Development Committee and Get on Board. Currently I am serving on the Human Resources Council as the Membership Development Committee Vice Chair as well as a part of the Membership Reclamation Committee. I’ve also been a Provisional sponsor since my first Active year in the League as a way to pay it forward and help other women that have similar interests and want to be a part of our organization.
