PPI Success Story By: Kayla Lynn Petty

PPI

Did you know that North Carolina is ranked in the top eight states for human trafficking? Or that over 72,000 residents in Mecklenburg County live in areas that are considered food deserts?

These are just a few statistics that impact Charlotte and our state.I decided to participate in PPI because I wanted to learn how to effectively advocate for change and help make a difference in my local community. By attending PPI classes, I was able to understand how our Government system works, how to effectively advocate for change and was able met with a few of our local government officials. Through PPI I was able to have a voice in our local community and develop great friendships with strong women within the league.
