This week’s #WeConnectWednesday theme is “We Connect with Each Other.” As you are all aware, the JLC is a great connection to Charlotte’s community and volunteering, but it is also part of our mission to connect to the women within the league!
Below are just a few ideas of how to get involved:
- Learn: Join JLC members on September 22 for the General Membership meeting, beginning with a social hour at 6 pm. Stay for the GMM from 7-8:30 to hear from leaders about how YOU can connect with the JLC. Learn about the Public Policy Institute by attending and information session at Air Fitness Class on September 17, or attending Wine and Design on September 29.
- Volunteer: Serve with fellow JLC members at Big Shots Saturdays on September 13 and September 20, or participate in the Southern Women’s Show JLC WearHouse Fashion Show on September 13.
- Lead: The Straw Ballot is an opportunity to self-nominate and/or nominate other JLC members for the role of President-Elect and positions on the Board of Directors, Management Team and Nominating Committee. Click here to read more about these positions, and then click here to complete the straw ballot. The finalized straw ballot will be coming before membership for a final vote in 2015, but NOW is the chance for you to begin letting your voice be heard regarding future JLC leadership.
- Be Social: The JLC offers numerous social events throughout the year. This is a great way to meet new women and network within Charlotte. These events will be posted in “The Happenings” that are sent out via email and posted on the Junior League website at jlcharlotte.org. Next week, mingle with JLC members at out Third Thursday social at Luna September 18!
Keep up to date and check the blogs each Wednesday to learn more of what’s going on within the Junior League of Charlotte, Inc.. How are you connecting with the JLC? Don’t forget to tag the JLC with the #WeConnectWednesday hashtag every Wednesday!
Sincerely,
JLC Board of Directors and Management Team
