The Leadership Development Institute (LDI) is a phenomenal program that offers women all aspects of Leadership. I was lucky enough to be chosen to be involved in the 2013-2014 program from November to May 2013. I must admit, I had no idea what to expect. To my surprise, Leadership Development Institute offered me an amazing lifetime experience.
The guest speakers included a variety of leaders from small business owners, professors, directors, and women entrepreneurs. The one on one exposure to these leaders was interactive and extremely informative. I learned about many different types of leadership styles, different leadership programs, how to handle major obstacles and challenges, but more importantly how to succeed. These monthly sessions provided me with insight and growth on how to become a better leader both personally and professionally. It also provided me with some self awareness that prompted deep internal thinking and processes. I enjoyed the candidness and level of directness that these individuals provided during our meetings.
I find myself talking about this program to many different people and organizations that I am involved with on a daily basis. Leadership Development Institute gave me the confidence to “go for it” and to expect challenges as you grow and learn on your path to becoming a great leader. It encouraged me to take risk and be that “think out of a box” person. I met new women in the League and developed relationships that I might never of had the pleasure of deepening.
I strongly recommend this program to any young lady in the Charlotte Junior League. You will benefit on a personal and professional basis.
